Things that make you say "Huh..."

I just saw a news snippet that Lucy Vodden died yesterday (Monday) at the age of 46. Just an ordinary person who unfortunately suffered from Lupus and didn't live an ordinary life. Those of us at this site, of a certain age, will be interested to know she was that "Lucy"; the friend Julian Lennon drew a picture of some fourty-odd years ago. John asked him what the picture was and he replied "it's Lucy, in the sky with diamonds."

    Huh...Indeed

It's quite sad that most people think that song was about PCP. So much from that era was attributed to drugs of one kind or another, whether it was true or not.

Mmmm.... should you have started with ...' I read the news today,oh boy...'

Sad to hear of her death.

    Sad news indeed. I never

Sad news indeed. I never bought the story it was about drugs. I really believed this story. I'm glad it was true. I didn't know it was Julian Lennon that gave that name to John.

By the way, anyone who's read Deadwoodpeckers terrific Yellow Submarine, would have read one chapter (all of them were named after Beatles songs) "Ginny in the Sky". I thought that was so cool.

    Lucy drawing

You can Google, or Bing, the song title and find an online scan of the drawing. Looks just like something one of my kids did when they were 4. :-)

PCP? It's always been supposed to be about LSD (Lucy Sky Diamonds), which the Beatles were known to use at the time. I always thought that John found Julian's drawing title serendipitous and used it in conjunction with the drug trip imagery.

That would have been Percy on the ceiling with parallelograms.

    PCP

If you're a pre-teen Ginny PCP means "Percy in the Classroom with Penelope." :-)

I admit, I was rather young

I admit, I was rather young when I heard it was about PCP. In retrospect, LSD makes more sense.

"Percy on the ceiling with Parallelograms"? Is this the Hogwarts edition of Clue?
