An astute reader (Ichtys) noticed that I made a rather glaring error in Chapter 24. I had Dumbledore introduce Hagrid to the Grangers as though they had never met. They had indeed met, however, back in chapter 9 when Hagrid broke up the fistfight between Arthur and Lucius. Normally, I really don't like making substantive changes to a chapter after it's posted, but in this case I think it's called for. If nothing else, I'd rather know that future readers, who are more likely to read the story consecutively rather than in widely-spaced chapters, will not be subjected to the fruits of my stupidity. I thought I'd let everyone know in case someone noticed the change or had previously noticed the problem.

Is it so bad?
My first question, without going to check on the actual text, is whether Dumbledore would have known that they had met previously.
Do you need to change Dumbledore's introduction, or maybe instead the Grangers' reaction to it?
I think so
I considered that, but I do think that Dumbledore would know the basics of the encounter in Diagon Alley. He's certainly had plenty of contact with Hagrid, we know he's had at least a bit of contact with Arthur, and chances are good that he's been subjected to whatever the rumor mill may say about Lucius (the man himself wouldn't speak of it, of course). I think that as soon as Dumbledore heard about the incident, no matter the source, he would take a few minutes to find out what really happened. All it would take is a brief cup of tea with Hagrid.
