I actually wrote some more of this last night. Not much but enough to get me past the bit that was causing me problems. The next bit isn't any easier to write but hopefully won't take as long. This chapter is the hardest one to write as it has the least action in it, just a lot of everyday stuff.
I keep changing my mind about Harry talking to Dumbles. It would be fun to write but would it actually move things forward? I'm not sure.
..... is it new trend on the Englsih language to use the present tense all the time. And example....
The man sits in his chair a looks at the window....
Whereas I would say....
The man sat in his chair and looked at the window.....
Just wondering......
First the bad news.....
Signed on for the first time to day, was patronised and insulted to hell until, that is, the person dealing with me found out I was a financial adviser. She then proceeded to quiz me about the staff pension scheme I had there. I didn't say anything because, well, I would have let rip and who knows what would have happened to my claim then.
And now the good news...
Basically: stalled
My life has taken a turn for the busy in the last few weeks, and it's going to last for at least another week. I've had almost no time to work on writing, aside from the short bits of The Contract we've posted (much of which were already written or which Josh originally drafted). Chapter 24 of MoO2 is in the beta process, but it's waiting for me to have time to do the first-round revisions. Chapter 25 is outlined but waiting on ch24.
IT IS A TRUTH universally acknowledged that a zombie in possession of brains must be in want of more brains. Never was this truth more plain than during the recent attacks at Netherfield Park, in which a household of eighteen was slaughtered and consumed by a horde of the living dead.
I've looked at this book on a number of occasions and never got around to buying it. Now that money is in short supply I've often rued the fact that I hadn't bought it. However, a few days ago I happened upon it in a news group and happily downloaded it.
Don't think I've every written a fight before.
They are hard, very hard. I'm not talking about HP fights, this is original fiction and it involves swords and shields. Anyone else have any success in this area? Any pointers you can give would be very useful.
The recession became personal today .... I lost my job. The payoff should last us until the end of January so hopefully I'll find something by then.
Perhaps, now I've got time on my hands, I'll get round to writing some fics.

I was listening to someone from the OED the other day talk about American English. She stated that a lot of the words we identify as American - gotten, quit, fall - are actually Elizabethan English. So whilst they had become obsolete over here by the 19th century they carried on in every day use in the US.
Of course I still struggle with the scarcity of prepositions (I'm going to write Harry) and the miserly use of the letter 'U' (color) and those lonely 'L's (cancel), but I think progress is being made.
My recent attempts to write have only been partially successful, due in part to my ideas requiring more chapters than I'm capable of delivering at the moment. I've looked around at various sites where prompts are regularly posted and found none that appeal to me. So I'm asking for help. Yes, I'm asking for prompts from the good folk of Metafic. Of course, being Metafic, they will not be of the same ilk as found elsewhere and will be capable of twisting my brain into areas never fully explored before. They can be AU, cliche, whatever.
